System Band est Créé en 1980 par Isnard Douby et Harold Joseph, anciens chanteurs des Frères Déjean, noyau initial: Ernst Vincent “Tines” (basse), Reginald Benjamin et Ronald Smith (guitares), Martial Bigaud (congas), Fritz Frédéric “Ti Mitou” (chant/percussions), Jean Maurice Mathurin (batterie), Lucien Céran (saxophone). Basé entre Haïti et la diaspora, notamment à New York, avec un style konpa teinté de groove et de world music.
